✌️97 Pts Decanter“Rounded and layered aromas of dried fruits, red cherry, smoke and coconut. Well-polished and presented with red fruit and plum flavors sluicing through the palate. It is, simply, a beautiful wine with the X-factor”
Jancis Robinson“18 months in French oak. More meaty on the nose – makes me think of roast duck and cranberry sauce. Vibrant red-fruited tang at the heart, radiating out on broad-shouldered but attractively sculptured tannins. This is fabulous. Fresh, grippy, authentic. Great balance. Pencil lead and finesse and refreshment” ❣️
Bodegas Altanza Lealtanza
Bodegas Altanza first started out in 1998 Located in Fuenmayor, a town in the province of La Rioja, Spain, bordering the Ebros River is where you will find the estate.
At Bodegas Altanza the production of wine is an artistry where they take the time to invest into each bottle a little bit of art. The apex being the Collection of Spanish Artists range. Only the most elite of vintages make the cut, with each being dedicated to one of Spain’s most gifted artistic figures: Sorolla (2010); Goya (2008); Gaudi (2005); Dalí (2004) and Miró (2001).
18 months in French oak barrels plus 3 months in French oak (Allier) cask of 22 HL, before being passed on to 22,000 liter French oak vats giving the wines the roundness and elegance characterized in all of Altanza’s wines. Lively garnet with ruby highlights. This wine will pair nicely with game animals, legume, stews, grilled red meats and semi-hard cheeses. Our chef's suggestion: traditional lamb stew.
